Kinnaur Tour Overview

It is a high altitude trek which begins at Dhaula village in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla of Himachal Pradesh. The pass offers the mesmerizing views of Garhwal Himalayas on one side and Baspa Valley and Kinnaur Kailash range on the other. Trekkers can also have a sneak peek into the plush apple orchards of Kinnaur.

Kinnaur Tour Itinerary

Day 1
The Rupin Pass trek is a moderate level trek and is a weeklong. It is one of the most treasured treks in North India. For avid trekkers, nature lovers and also the shutterbugs; Rupin pass is a nature’s gift. The trail connects the southern Garhwal region to the Baspa Valley of Himachal. The Rupin pass trek commence from Dhaula (reached via Dehradun). Sewa, Jhaka, Burans Kandi, Dhanderas Thach are some quaint places en route to Rupin pass. The trail cuts through deep dark folds in the mountains and runs after the Rupin River. Dense Oak and Fir forests, deer and mules having frolic in the lush Dhanderas Thach (meadows) and gorgeous waterfalls are the major highlights of the whole expedition.

Best Time to Visit

The post monsoon months, September and October are the best time to trek. Just after the monsoon, the route is covered with white Rhododendrons and other wild flowers. Valleys, meadows, plants, flowers, everything is brought to life at this time. While the Rupin pass can be trekked in the summers as well. If you are looking to enjoy the sight of snow, then the months of May and June are recommended to you. During this time, the trail above the meadows is snow-capped and looks absolutely enchanting. Monsoons are to be avoided as the trail is muddy and slippery.
