Mostly free from major human interference Chopta is a base for trekking to the locally renowned tourist spot Tungnath and Chandrashila. Chopta is located at an elevation of 2,680m above the sea level and offers astonishing and mesmerizing views of imposing Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Chaukhamba. Chopta is rich in flora and fauna and has rare species of birds and musk deer. Chopta is also known as Mini Switzerland; and is easily accessible. Situated at the road connecting Gopeshwar and Guptkashi, at 254kms from Rishikesh and 450kms from Delhi.
Chopta is perfect for a getaway from the daily honk-honks of the vehicles in the city. This place is so mesmerizing you can even feel the essence of the cool breezes touching your cheeks. Chopta is also popular because it experiences heavy snowfall during the months of DEC-March. The hills of Tungnath temple and Chandrashila are entirely covered with snow. The morning view from Chopta is bewitching when the crimson rays of the sun kiss the snow-filled Himalayas.

Deori Tal:
Deori Tal is situated on the Ukimath-Gopeshwar road. A visit to Deorital is a wholesome experience in itself, passing through the village while collecting glimpses of their daily life in the camera. The lake itself is a major attraction of Chopta attracting tons of visitors.
Tungnath and Chandrashilla Trek:
This trek is one of the most beautiful and astonishing treks of Uttarakhand. The Tungnath temple andChandrashila peak gives a 360 degree, mesmerizing view of the valleys below. The peaks of Panchchuli, Nanda Devi, Nilkanth and Kedarnath are all covered with snow during the trek.
Ukhimath:
Ukhimath is famous in the followers of the Hindu Mythology, Ukhimath is the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath, who is temporarily shifted every year from Kedarnath. Ukhimath is filled with shrines of Shiv-Parvati and the protagonists of the tale of Banasura, Usha, and Aniruddh.
Tungnath Temple:
One of the five shrines of Lord Shiva and situated at the elevation of 3860m which is literally breathtaking.
